No, please use our supplied test lead.
If our test lead alligator clips are not suitable to your DUT (e.g., the screws on your DUT are too small), use our optional test probe LP01-TOS or LP02-TOS.
The earth continuity testers apply the AC test current through the DUT to measure the resistance of the DUT with the test current and the voltage at the test point. Then, it determines whether the resistance is within the scope of the applicable standard.
The test current depends on your DUT’s ratings and applicable standards. For example, UL60950-1 requires up to 60 A testing.
Our test leads (TL12-TOS/LP02-TOS: 60 A supported) are designed to comply with such standard.
For the test lead, a contact resistance is lower if a contact area is larger. Therefore, the contact area should be larger as much as possible.
Our test leads use a four-terminal wiring, which consist of a pair of current output cables and voltage measurement cables. These are designed to minimize the contact resistance on each cables (including the alligator clips).
Therefore, our test leads are most suitable to our earth continuity testers in order to secure your safety and reliable measurement results.
